Interview With Alang : Adsense And Online Publishing
For my first ever podcast (more to come soon) I had the opportunity of doing and interview with Alang.
For a long period of time, Malaysian content network publisher Samsul Zamzuri Abu Bakar (better known as Alang) remained below the radar, building a handful of useful content and community websites with great content powered by free word-of-mouth marketing.
Although Alang is well known within the Internet marketing circle, he maintained a low profile and preferred to work quietly behind the scenes. In this rare interview, Alang reveals some of his strategies on building content-driven community sites that generate 7000 visitors a day, the ups and downs of Google Adsense, as well as valuable insights into making money on the Internet by selling advertising space and directory
listings.
Here are some sites owned by Alang:

Alang major in selling advertising space. After i read the interview (PDF) i didnt see any special info from Alang about his Adsense. It’s true about content is king, and every internet marketer knows this. Before I read the interview, I was expecting Alang would share some tips on earn revenue from Adsense. But I still learn something else in the interview.
Hi John,
If you ask me, he has already shared more than I got anywhere else. Alang actually shares with you the actual websites he’s making money from. How many Adsense publishers are willing to do that?
I suggest you study his sites. Just looking at it can give you all the information you need..
Yes, agreed with mr.gobala. Alangs` sites really informative in term of adsense. Look at his adsense placement (especially in his myspace site).. its awesome man! His CTR for sure is skyrocketed. It blow my head till now. Thanks alang for sharing so much with us.
i really respect this guy (alang)..
his the role model for me in this internet business adventure..
Alang shared alot on this interview. Thanks Gobala for the Interview. Content is king and this is the kind on content we all should have on your blogs and sites. I should start doing podcast and interviews now, they are just great source of content to have it on your site
I start making money from website using adsense. But after being hit by smart pricing, I know that I need to find an alternative for adsense. Thats the reason why I do not provide any tricks to increase adsense CTR because people will blame me later if they being hit by smart pricing too. You can do that on early day of adsense because higher CTR/clicks mean more money but not now. You have to treat adsense as other affiliates program thats the reason I insist on content rather than tricks to get people click on adsense.
Adsense is no longer my major income thats the reason why I do not stress on it, but like few peoples here said, you can see my websites to see the ads placement that give me good CTR.
Banyak dah ibterview ye..im glad to see another..em..adsense really open malay to united especially malay enterpruneur..malay e-biz..
Nice….i’ll use you as my case study!
This is good stuff. Thank you for sharing. Good job, both of you, bro Alang, and Mr Gobala Krishnan…
Keep up the good job in educating Malaysians with regards to ICT and Web 2.0.
